Allergy

Allergy is a common phenomenon from which many people suffer, wherein the body responds sensitively when over-exposed to substances called allergens. These allergens, which evoke symptoms in the allergic person, release aggressive substances such as histamines into the immune system. Allergies are expressed in many ways, such as asthma and hay fever; symptoms such as itching, sneezing, rash, skin infections or in the digestive system and, in extreme cases, by shortness of breath, a drop in blood pressure and anaphylactic shock. Due to industrial development and degradation of air quality in the world, the number of those suffering from different allergies is ever increasing.

Sensitivity

In addition to allergy, there is the phenomenon of sensitivity to materials. This sensitivity creates allergic reaction when in contact with different materials such as food or perfume, or through skin contact. When sensitivity occurs, the body cannot deal with certain elements in food or the environment. Sensitivity to drugs and to certain food substances are the most common, such as to lactose, a substance found in cow’s milk and dairy products.
