Our gentle, non-intrusive and effective treatment is based on six fundamental principles:
The first principle Primum non nocere: First, do no harm.
We use methods and medical substances that reduce the risks to your health to a minimum. We also employ the least intrusive methods available in order to diagnose an ailment and treat it. We do our best to prevent the oppression of symptoms, as that can interfere with the natural healing process.
The second principle Tolle causam: Treat the cause.
The cause of the ailment must be identified before recuperation is possible. We strive to treat the cause of ailment so that its symptoms will be relieved as well.
The third principle Vis medicatrix naturae: The healing power of nature.
Everyone has a natural healing power that is responsible for curing and maintaining health. The holistic role of the therapist is to support, facilitate and magnify this force by identifying and eliminating the obstacles that stand in the way of healing and recuperation and by supporting the creation of an internal and external environment that is essential for health.
The fourth principle Docere: The doctor as a teacher.
The original meaning of the word "doctor" is "teacher". The holistic therapist aims to educate the patient and to promote his taking responsibility for his own health, and considers the development of the therapist/patient relationship as vital to the healing effect of the process.
The fifth principle Treat the whole person.
Health and sickness are multi-determined in nature, therefore, a complex attitude toward diagnosis and an individually tailored treatment plan is required. We treat the person as a whole, taking into account physical, mental, emotional, genetic, environmental and even social components.
The sixth principle Prevention is the best medicine.
We emphasize the study of health no less than the study of sickness. Prevention of ailment and creation of the proper conditions to maximize health may be last on our list but are first in our priorities.
